I filled up my oil and I will see how much oil I really burn. I don't see smoke though. This is a pain

i was told that installing crank vents might solve this issue. i believe someone on here was selling them a few years back. not sure what the availability is like now.

^Switch to something else. I switched to Redline from Mobil1 and my oil consumption went to almost nothing. That was over a year ago.

Like others have said, get rid of the Mobil 1. I switched to Castrol Edge and my oil consumption went waaaay down. I don't really burn any off unless I'm driving the car as hard as I would at a track. Even then, it's still a LOT less than Mobil 1. Plus, maybe 5w30 burns quicker than 10w30?

You also didn't completely fill it. Takes 5.5 quarts of oil.
I hate Mobil1 though. Burns much more than any other oil I have used and hear nothing but bad things about it now a days.
I have been liking castrol and valvoline much more!

Ok if you said it takes up 5.5 quarts of oil and I only put 5 quarts then I should be halfway down the dipstick right? Before I added more oil the oil level was at midline so that would make sense? Anyways I'll continue to check the oil If that doesn't help i'm moving to a different oil

AMSOIL then CASTROL edge. 5w30 or 10w30? I live in Cali 1 hour south of LA which can get pretty hot sometimes.

Thanks for the reply guys!

Tried many different brands due to oil consumption.Sticking with the only oil that did not burn off Castro GTX 10-30 non-syn.

You have an AP2 and are burning oil? AP2's shouldn't burn oil I don't believe. Weird.

That's what I thought, but I'm always rippin it- I contribute that to the 1/2 Qt loss between oil changes. Haven't lost any since switching to castrol though.
