on my last oil change i put mobil 1 5w30 5 quarts. I checked the level few hours later it was on "High" if i read right. Now it's below mid level and I've put only few miles on it. Maybe the 5 quarts didn't fill it up all the way?
how are you reading your oil? Sounds stupid I know not trying to insult your intelligence but if you read your oil cold then subsequently every reading after for comparison should be done cold. If it was done hot, then same thing. also engine should be off cause if it's running well then it will read lower because the oil is circulating through the motor.. Hope this helps.

Nope after oil change I let it sit and saw the oil level at high. Then I ran the motor, drove for a while (oil have gotten to the oil filter-- which can cause to lower my oil level) then turned it of. Next morning checked it and it was around midline.

First off when i got my 01 i changed the oil with mobil 1 and in the 2800miles i used 4 quarts that's how much it was burning, i changed to castrol gtx fully synthetic, now i put 1 quart every 2800 which is great, also you have to check oil when it's hot, for example, i drive my car let's say 5-10 mins and then turn off the engine, open my hood, take the dipstick out wait 5 mins and check it, the dipstick sometimes lies so check more then once, also changing the pcv valve doesn't hurt it's like $5 at autozone.
