Default Options to increase RPM limiter on AP2

Just recently traded-in my AP1 for AP2.
My lap time (skill limited) on Texas World Speedway improved from 2:08 (AP1 stock/stock spring/KONI shocks/stock tires) to 2:04 (AP2 stock/KW coilover/stock tires). However, I have to shift from 3-4 and 5-6 on sections of the track where I did not have to previously. These shifts are very short duration since I have to brake and downshift again within 2 seconds after I shift up.

I am looking for options to increase the RPM limiter on AP2 to say 8500RPM so I can stay on the gear and be smoother.

I heard swapping it with AP1 ECU is an option but I think it will compromise of other aspects of the programming since the AP2 engine is slighly different plus there are additional sensors (airbag proximity,VSA, drive-by-wire, tire pressure ('08), etc) which does not exists on AP1.

Is there better option?
Is there "yellow box" for RPM sensor?

What tires were you running at TWS?

Anyway, regarding the redline - the Hondata reflash or a stand-alone unit like the AEM EMS will both accomplish your goal. The commonly accepted "safe" limit for an AP2 is only about 8500 though, so you'll probably have to continue to shift in those places regardless.

Here's something to consider - swapping out the ring and pinion in the diff for a 3.636 setup will give you almost exactly the same shift points (in terms of mph) as the AP1.

lazyjet,
the website says "2006-2007 S2000. The RSX ECU is not compatible with the 06-07 drive by wire, so the S2000 K-Pro cannot be used. Sorry."

Elistan,
I updated my post to answer your question.
My previous stock AP1 was on stock spring/KONI shock/stock S02 tires
My current stock '07 AP2 has KW coilover V3/stock RE050 tires.
Thanks for the 'ring and pinion in the diff for a 3.636 setup' idea.
I will look into it.
May be bigger rear tires provides the same gear ratio also.

You have three options:

1) hondata reflash
2) 4.44, 4.57 or 4.77 gears (you will have to shift but it will be worth it).
3) aem ems for the ap2.5. you can only have this installed in socal.
