Default Origin Fabrication Intake

New intake system coming out from Origin Fabrication, and it looks high quality, as is all of their work. My only concern is the way the ducting is routed. Would it receive enough air? Is the lower fender well area low or high pressure?

Origin Fabrication Intake

Thoughts?

The airbox is tight fixed on the ch ssis and the piping is rigid (except 2 small silicone parts): what will happen when the engine will move ?!

Those ITG Maxogen induction kits are normally in the $3-400 range, almost double the price for a custom intake elbow and some brackets seems a lot.
I had a kit on my Civic Type R and I liked it a lot, it had a really nice midrange bump.

The coupler between the piping and the throttle body should take care of any flex from the engine. My FIPK is fixed to the chassis and has a similar coupler, never had an issue.

Yeah, I felt it was a little pricey too. I'm curious about the filter though. Claims less restriction and better filtering, is that even possible?

It's been proven that increasing the intake length is the main benefitting property of aftermarket intakes. It has to do with timing of the sound pressure wave reflecting back into the combustion chamber.

Same property applies to the savaging effect of a header.

That being said, the longest intakes like AEM seem to give the most benefit. Weather they actually put research time into it or they just got lucky, im not sure.

I know Origin makes quality parts. But i am sorry; this kit looks very cheap and can be pieced by anyone here for under $300 on the high end. [ITG airboxes can be found for like $150.00]

Maybe if the intake arm was a nice quality pie cut titanium or something that justified the price tag. But $800+ for this kit is nothing that atleast for me says "wow"

No one on here needs to worry about any restriction from the stock or Wix air filter.
Here is a post I made back in '16 after using the same air filter for 6 years and 90,000 miles(have a little over 50k miles on the one I put in back in '16)

I think some power can be had if they transitioned down to the oem TB diameter a few inches before the coupler.

And they will need to show some dyno numbers to make people get on board for that price.

Nice to see people still making parts for our car though.

What makes this look cheap to you? I’m genuinely curious. Is it the finish on the arm or something?

I know what the price is for just the materials in this kit, before any of the fabrication is done and it is FAR beyond $300. I mean a K&N intake is over $300!!
