Well, if you have weak or a busted motor mount one or both of the couplers will rip. It needs a hump hose somewhere in the intake arm to allow for some engine movement.

That being said, the longest intakes like AEM seem to give the most benefit. Weather they actually put research time into it or they just got lucky, im not sure.
Not always true. On a stock AP1 I lost power extending the intake into the fender well and doing all that 3" > 4" crap.

For $800 it would be nice to see a dyno of the 'substantial intake pipe'

I got a CIA for ya. Comes with a velocity stack. Zero research, but I bet it'll make power. Lol
