I did mine about 6 months ago, scuffed the emblem with 800 grit sandpaper then spray painted adhesive for plastic trim and then sprayed Duplicolor gunmetal. Just enough offset in color from the black to see the emblem.

I basically took the same steps as you, except i sanded and scuffed mine up first, primed them, painted them, and to avoid rock chips and the pressure washer taking a beating on them, i threw about 20 light layers of clear coat on them, been holding up for over a year now, no chips, and no signs of wear except for a little bit of fading... but lime green will do that




and for all you rpf1 guys, you can make your own center caps too:

I did this with a flat red on my gpw. Looks good



Now do this to your OEM lug nuts and leme see what happens when you put them on your car.

And i would love to see a DIY for the center caps. May i also say your green on black looks very very good
