Default PLM header

so after i bought the plm header here on the group buy that was being offered i let it sit for a while till it got warmer, i couldnt wait anymore so i called my buddy billman and got to work on it. so ill start back from the beginning to make this review complete

on a 1-5 star rating

product quality(****1/2)
good looking product, on mine some of the welds werent the best looking but all in all very impressed since it was fairly cheap, my only real problem was that some of the exhaust runner ports werent are smoothed out as others, but i quickly took to grinding and made it a bit better.

installation(*****)
very easy to install, you dont even need to lift up the engine or anything to get it in. a little wiggle here and there and we got the header in no problem. the only hitch we had was the collector had a slight "egg" on it from me accidentally dropping it when i was grinding smooth the runners i was telling you about.

looks(*****)

the header looks really clean for the most part as mentioned before the welds were all good except a few, but either way im happy.

power not dynoed yet(*****)
i am beyond impressed with the difference i got from the header, i beat my 2k all the way to billmans place just so i can get a good taste of what the car had prior to the install and once i got in it after the work was done, the difference is between day and night call me crazy, stupid or overly excited but the difference is there and i know it. the power comes on quicker the throttle response is instant, vtec engagement is harder, louder, more pronounced. my buttdyno is going crazy, after i few good rips from 2nd-6th i was convinced/satisfied/and even a bit intimidated..... good sh*t .

overall impression:

for the budget tuner or the guy tryin to get rid of that anchor that honda placed in the engine bay this is a great option, for those who claim to loose power from installing this header, i find it hard to believe but whatever to each his own.once i dyno the car ill post numbers but i dont think itll be anytime soon and when i do it will be with the factory rim/tire to get a realistic result.

this review is solely based upon my opnion and results, so please appreciate it for what it is and no i dont care about your $1200 header making more power. i just want the community to know that this is a very good option and not to be discouraged by the price.

hope you enjoy and benefit cheers

feel free to ask any question

BTW, my current mods are ; PLM HEADER, k&N FIPK, CHALLENGE TA-76s single exhaust(engine mods)

I too bought the PLM during group buy and I hope to install it soon. I was thinking of sending it to jethot to get coated but I'm not for sure. Forgot what it was to coat it by it wasn't too bad, maybe 150ish. The thing o like about coatings is 1) color of the header does change over time. 2) heat in engine bay drips ALOT and 3) heat with in the header leaves faster, from what I hear.
I don't mind spending another 150ish since the header was so cheap to begin with, I just don't wanna wait
