Yeah, it's mainly based off header size. Don't bother

One guy (has a GTO) explained it to me that, no matter how big my exhaust is, my exhaust restriction is 63.5mm because of the test pipe, so it doesnt matter how big my exhaust is after it, you can only fit so much air through that test pipe, therefore, if i want my exhaust to make any power, i need to upgrade the test pipe. But wouldnt that be like saying the collector on my comptech header is 63mm so having a larger than 63mm exhaust be no help, since i can only fit so much air through the 63mm header collector
One way to trump your buddy's very very very...very...bad logic would be to ask him if a catback exhaust on his GTO (or 1,000 other cars) adds power (it does). When you add a catback you leave the diameter of the catylitic converter and exhaust manifolds be and increase horsepower (most of the time).

I agree with everyone else, it's not worth the minor gains.

Stupid question (maybe) - but who makes a 70mm header?

I recently replaced my 63mm test pipe with a skunk2 70mm test pipe for exactly the same reason - I also have the 70mm Skunk2 Exhaust...

Only now researching headers - so not even sure if you get a 70mm header?

If not - best one to go with 70mm exhaust system?

I did the same - it looks like the J's gives the biggest gains - so I'm assuming that would be the best to get.

Unfortunately - it'll cost about double to get to South Africa - so I have to save.
