a link to a link and i found my prm thread:

https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/743...ke-customized/

still can't figure out this "fitment" issue that everybody talks about, the prm mounts to the throttle body with a clamp and that's the only mount point, figuring how to reroute lines takes about five minutes and a couple of dollars for tubing from carquest.

The fitment issue I am talking about is the fact that since it is not attached to anything it swings around in the engine bay, it used to bounce off everything when I autox'ed with it and ding stuff up. The filter is NOT a K&N, my filter came apart and when I looked through the catalog on the K&N site there is not a single filter with the PRM filter dimensions. I had significantly more bog with it compared to the FIPK too... I loved the PRM when I first got it, and still think it sounds the best but after my experience I will never buy anything from that company again.

PS there is a reason most of the track and autox junkies you see that have intakes, have the FIPK or AEM...

had to check out the k&n filter thing, went over to the prm site, misread it, it said use the k&n filter cleaner, so no idea what filter is in there i guess, i still like the concept though with routing the tubing to the passenger side fake brake duct (i'll get around to that eventually)...

For simplicity sake, use a good name. Cant go wrong with fipk or aem.

Yeah the intake fits fine and it doesnt have actual fitment issues, it just lacks a mounting point which can easily be done youself if you want. I've seen people make custom brackets, or have a peice of wire wrapped around the end of it and hooked to the bracket the OEM airbox was mounted to on, to cutting an FIPK box and mounting it in there. I've never had issues with my PRM sliding around even without the duct, with the duct on it's verys strudy and definetly won't slide anywhere, so it's nothing to worry about to me.

Also you are right, it is not a K&N filter, it's a K&N type filter that you just use the K&N cleaning kit on. I have cleaned mine with the kit and it's pretty much identical to any K&N filter i've seen, it's just an odd shape since it's super long.

Never had a problem with my PRM moving around. The included silicone couplers are tight and the filter assembly is light. Gains may be modest but for the $ I'm very happy with it.

Please read the other intake threads. This dead horse is so beaten there's not much left to beat on.

95% of people that knock it have never used it. A review has no worth if it's written on hearsay and not personal experience.

I had the PRM. I liked it. Now I have the AEM V2. I also like it. The AEM V2 probably makes more power over the PRM, but nothing noticeable. The PRM was louder and had slightly better throttle response. It wasn't really my choice to change(car broken into, parts stolen). I wasn't gonna buy the same part twice so I decided to try something different.

It sucks up hot air and at regular temps your engine bay is around 210 degrees. The prm is sucking all the hot air up.
Just stop.
