Just like to say thanks, this method worked like a champ. Just like to make a note and say a 1 1/2 inch boring tool with a drill press or hand drill makes the perfect hole in the 2x4.

1000 miles and 4 hours at Sebring since my last update. No audible sounds. The car is alittle squirlly under breaking but this could be due to ghe high rear brake bias im running. Im gonna try to mount the camera on the fronnt suspension next month at sebring to evaluate thrust play under braking.

That should be interesting to see.

Here's an update. Since last December, when the bushings went on, Ive done:

8 events at Sebring, Palm Beach, and Homestead Miami totaling:
22 hours on track. With 2500 street miles.

In March I switched to a square 17X9 R888 and a Stoptech BBK front and rear. The last event for this current set of tires is at the end of the month so a little over a set and a half of tires on these bushings.

The front upper right control arm bushing behind the axle that takes all the braking load for the upper control arm is screwed. My original observation that the car was squirrely under braking only got worse and some time during the summer I was having to steer hard to the left under heavy braking. Damn those bushings are cheap though, so I bought another front kit from Prothane that came in today. I plan on modifying the FUCAB to a two piece design to increase the load bearing surface under braking. Ill take some pictures of the before and after. Ill also post a video of all the brake-steer. Dont get me wrong, I hate Prothane but Im pretty sure this will be both a cheap and successful fix. All the other bushings are in great shape and are still quiet.

When you remove the bushing, can you please post a picture of it.

Im starting to think i bent the control arm either assembling or disassembling my kit last year. Im also considering the lack of braking support may have bent the control arm though much less likely. I say this because its only an issue on the right side and the bushing looks great. What isnt so great is the gap and play in the assy. I may have been quick to call the bushing screwed. I modified some bushings and made shims but measure twice and cut once and all that. It will have to wait for tomorrow when I can cut some more bushings.

See the gap in the left bushing between the face of the control arm and the shoulder of the bushing? The control arm fingers could be bent together creating this clearance. The OEM bushings give more support here and the two OEM bushings share the braking force.

This is getting worse by the minute......i feel like what ive done is really ghetto. Access to a machine may or may not be good for my car. I modded the bushings so i could make a two piece on the forward link and I added a shim to the rear link. I thought I should see my plan through to the end so feel free to say what you think of it. Rice or respect?
