Default Putting on TP...

So Im replacing my OEM Cat w/ a Berk TP. Im replacing the gasket between the TP and exhaust but what about the one between the header and TP? Do I need to replace it or even need one?

Also is this something I can buy at my local auto store? As far as the donut gasket.

TIA

From the header to the cat/ test pipe you should have a donut gasket. From the cat/ test pipe you should have a triangular (circle cut out) gasket. Both can be bought at any automotive store.

Are they universal parts?

Yes, as long as you get the correct sizes, which I can't currently remember but you shouldn't have a problem searching for the sizes or just go to hardtopguy.com

Najib, I'd recommend replacing the donut gasket. I've always done it when installing new exhaust manifolds or test pipes/CATs.

You can get them from Majestic Honda(hondaautomotiveparts.com) for a pretty good price. I've been able to get a good price on them through Hall Honda(Virginia Beach), and they get them within a day(special order).

You said you're replacing the house gasket(the one between the test pipe and exhaust)? I'm assuming the test pipe already came with a new one?

You should have a gasket there. It's going to mate inside the tp though (it surrounds the outter lip of the collector on the header). If you don't, I reckon you'd have a pretty nice exhaust leak...

Unless parts stores are different in CT, no way you can walk into a parts store and get either, especially the flat gasket.

My gaskets were leaking so I replaced them using several layers of heat tape and a razor blade. No more leaks.

Ya you probably have a donut gasket between the header and TP, i'd be shocked if you managed without it. It doen't look like a flat, maluable pancake gasket like on the other side, its fat and round and looks like steel whool all pressed together.
