Unless parts stores are different in CT, no way you can walk into a parts store and get either, especially the flat gasket.
Wow, didn't know you couldn't do that in California. Sure, I can walk into any automotive parts store, heck even a Midas, and they'll happily sell me what I need. In fact I did that when a company for my hi-flow cat forgot to include a gasket. Of course later they sent me two for free.

i was in the same boat u are in on saturday. put a invidia TP on my HKS exhaust and the idiot at the muffler shop diddnt put on a exhaust donut. so when im driving on later that night my car starts sounding like a boat... aka exhaust leak. i look under my car and there is about a 3/4 inch gap in between. I'm not sure if he diddnt tighten the bolts or what but damn i diddnt even want to drive my car.

Just get the donut and be done with it.

the guy are the muffler shop wanted to charge me $40 for the donut..

did a simple search on my iphone and found out you can get them for $10 online.

as far as finding them at a local auto parts store im not sure, but I would rather wait a week to put my test pipe on for $10 than pay $40 for right now.

you should totally try doing it yourself, its awfully easy.. socket wrench and an extra pair of hands (if your a pussy) and your set.

Some people may not have the resources, i.e. jacks, a lift, ramps, to do it themselves. Don't jump to conclusions so fast.

Okay so I went to my local autozone for the flat gasket and they did not carry it. Also no go on the donut gasket.

As far as replacing the parts, I know its easy to do but I'm going to have a local s2k tech put it on. I have the tools just not the jacks and jackstands to do it safely. Also my apt complex doesn't allow it.

I got a letter of complaint from my complex when I removed and reinstalled my exhaust. Id rather not exasperate my leasing office.

Buy my donut gasket.

I think I have a triangular one, too. I'll look for it when I go home.
