I have the Kevlar one I had to make some adjustments b/c it kept rattling. I also used foam weather stripping to seal up all the areas where air can come in from and made sure air only came in from the scoop, it made much more responsive and also I finally felt the midrange gains people were talking about. If I had to do it again I would buy the J's racing intake.

Spending anything close to $1k is retarded. It has nothing to do with whether you can afford it or not. Assuming you live in the US, and you need a loan to buy your dream AP1 which floats around for less than $15k, you are paying almost 1/10 of the car value on an intake .

No issues with mine on install, fitment was perfect. Didn't remove the bumper on install like the directions tell you to and it was still a breeze.
Good gains, noticeable. Not as susceptible to heat soak on hot summer days. Uses a K&N filter element
No braaap noise experienced.
Only complaint would be the screws that tighten up the lid to the air filter chamber, the threaded portion is pressed / crimped into the carbon and they can lose there grip on the carbon if over tightened. This makes it a b!tch to remove the lid, so don't over tighten and use a small dab of locktite because they get loose over time.

check out the post from b.r.i.a.n in the NA section, he gets a sweet resonance spike in power and loses less up top by using a long intake that goes from 3.5" to 3" (like the AEM v2)
I'd consjder swapping out my K&N fipk for the aem if it didn't mean tapping out another hole for my nitrous

Yeah...... But it's baller as f*ck.
It's sexy and has some of the top gains seen from an intake.
I know everyone says just go boost... but mine is still under warranty so I don't feel like getting involved with all that noise...
