Default Question about rx7 side diffusers

Hello I purchased some rx7 style side diffusers and I wanted to ask a few questions about the installation. I plan on using self tapping screws and drill through the diffuser and into the cars body and then removing all of the screws. Then I would touch up paint all of the holes to prevent rusting. Then lay this 50lb 3m tape I found along the diffuser and then screw the screws back in and have washers on them as well. Does this seem like a good way to install them? Also what size self tapping screws should I use?

Sounds about right. Not sure what size screws to use though.

I've got mine held on with some rather small screws, but I put fender washers about the size of a quarter between the screw and the splitters to even out the load. I didn't use double sided tape because I'd probably crack them if I ever had to take them off. They've held up fine with just 6 screws for over a year.
