Default Radiator Mat DIY

Does anybody have pictures on how to do this mod? I know it involves some sort of heat shielding of the radiator to the intake but a search of this site has yielded me a bunch of old threads with no pictures.

Thanks

I just bought a roll of the reflective bubble insulation and a roll of aluminum ducting tape from the hardware store, and cut it out.

It really has more to do with your usage. If you track your car, a nearly stock S2000's coolant temps can get up to the 250's. Mine were in the 225's by the end of every 20 minute session last summer.

Great, thats the kind of picture that I was looking for. I want to get a cooling plate but I dont really want to spend the money right now. I may also add a portion that reaches under the airbox.

Sort of like a shield that will direct the hot air from the back of the radiator and under the airbox.

Any more pictures will be greatly appreciated.

How much do you think cooling plates cost? You can get them on ebay for $40 or do the group buy for them on here for $60-70.

Yeah I know that they are that cheap but basically I like to DIY as much as possible. Saves money and also makes it very personalized and unique.
