Default Re-burning iconel tip

I was cleaning my exhaust and seem to have rubbed off some of the blue'ish/purple burnt look on my 5zigen pro spec A III singlepipe exhaust exhaust tailpipe.

Does anyone know if i can clean it and polish then reburn the blue/puirple ish look?

The exhaust tailpipe is made out of Iconel, so i need to know if heating it up will change the colours and what temperature etc

Thanks

I have seen plenty of threads on it here and just on the web. Basically you buff yours off. Clean all grease off and re-burn. It looked pretty straight-forward.

Yeah just use some polish to clean it off. Then use a torch to re burn the tip. If it comes out bad can just polish it off again with metal polish.

Do you mean Inconel? If so, why would you have an exhaust tip made from Inconel? I have experience with this material when I was in the nuclear valve business... It is used for extreme service, such as high pressures and temperatures. I could see it being used on an F1... Sorry for the long post - I'm just curious why you would have an Inconel exhaust tip lol!

*EDIT*
I just looked up the 5zigen exhaust you mentioned, and it looks like they are using Inconel 600 for the tip!

Thanks guys, Yes I've seen guides on here for turning the tips blue but thats for 'Stainless steel' NOT inconel.

I wondered if the same applies and what temps are needed etc.

Hey, at least only the tip is made out of the stuff. Check this out - and look at the price tag!

Same applies but with slightly higher temperature. Not too much temperature difference on a piece that thin, just increase the torch flame output until you get the burn color you like.

Would love to hear a review on this exhaust. Love 5Z stuff but nobody has this thing! Any pics or vids would be appreciated too.
