Default Rear strut bar?

I'm looking to replace/add on to the stock rear strut bar, but there isn't a very good selection. The Cusco one comes up a lot, but it looks like it performs worse than the stock bar as it has pivot points and the stock version is all welded.

Someone tipped me on Carbing, but all I could find is this:

http://www.directtuning.com/store/pc...7-CARBING.aspx

I doubt the picture shown is the real one though. Anyone have pics of the Carbing version, or know of a bar that would be better than stock?

Thanks.

Be prepared for everyone to say that it's not worth it. Unless you're trying to make your trunk look nicer, the gains are extremely minimal.

Won't that will reduce understeer (or increase the tenancy for the back end to step out)?

Tightening the rear makes the car looser... do you want that?

I thought the mod was to stiffen the front or take the stock rear bar off --- to tighten down the rear end and temper the S2000s tendency to "reverse directions"...

...A stronger bar reduces grip on that end of the car...

i think you accidentally replied to the wrong thread. this is about the bar tuners put between shock towers.

Stiffer rear does increase oversteer

I think you may be thinking about sway bars. He's talking strut bars.

J's racing makes a rear strut tower bar. I don't feel the need to replace the stock one though.

looks like j's also has pivots, though not sure.

anyone know of a model without pivots?

No - I know that he was talking about rear tower bars (guys -- we DON"T HAVE STRUTS) ---

the stated purpose of aftermarket tower bars is to "stiffen" the rear...
which, as I said, is generally counter productive.

And like I said - one cheap mod is to remove the stock tower bar -- this loosens the rear and provides a bit more under steer ---
---- making the car a bit less likely to turn around if you're brutish in the corners.
