redline shift beeper issues!
Well I got my shift beeper the other day, I wired it up going by the instructions and it worked perfect. Then 2 days later my step dad drove it to the store and said it was beeping at 4k. So I went outside and sure enough it was beeping at 4k. So I went in got my instructions and double checked everything. everything seemed to look just fine. I moved all the little things to the other setting then moved then back and it worked just find. Like it was suppose to.
Now today (the next day) I start up my car and its beeping at idle! wtf! I had to get to work and didnt have time to mess with it so I just unhooked the beeper so I wouldnt hear it beep and wne to work. Whats going on with it? I know its wired right, it worked perfectly the first day.

I used wire tappers to tap the wires, so I would think is a good conection. could it be the cold weather and maybe the car needs to warm up to operating temps to work right?
When it was messing up the first time i literally changed the settings then changed them back to what they were at to start with.
I would think that if I tapped the wrong wires it would of never worked right in the first place?

The first 2 days I had it hooked up it worked perfect and beeped at the set rpm (s). Since then though it's been really old out side and started beeping at wierd times. Ie- 4900 the first time, 1900 the second. I'll re-check all the wiring today and see if I can figure it out.
That's probably the best thing. T-taps can be adequate, but sometimes the connection is spotty. Soldering is really the way to go. I had a faulty connection in a different set of electronics give me a huge headache in troubleshooting. When having problems, triple check and then solder connections.
It would be a piain to solder them though becuase to hook it up you have to tap into a harness thats kind of a pain to get to. Its raining right now but I'll try to check it out later.
