Default Removable trackday wing

Hey everyone,

been off the forums for a bit. Haven’t really been driving much lately, but I did book another SCCA Track night at Sebring!

I ordered a silencer to make the 7hr drive more comfortable. Pretty happy with the results and with 1 bolt, I’m back at full volume.

ive been wanting a wing for a while. I like the cr wing. If I come across one, already mounted on a trunk, think that would be the move. I’d swap trunks for track days.

what I just tried searching around for was a way to mount a gt wing but in a way that wouldn’t require drilling into the trunk, and could be installed and removed easily (pins or a couple bolts).

please let me know if you’ve seen something close, even if it was on another car.

thanks!

I was thinking maybe you could mount base plates in the seams, inside the trunk…

…but the seems/panel gaps look too tight. Then there are the two plastic trim covers in between the trunk and the convertible top. Now I’m wondering if you could make a wing that mounts there??

Default Do these come off?

How do you get these off? When I pull up on it, feels like it’s going to snap

Some days I wish I had a 240 that I could just cut and grind on without any concern.

i know it’s not a Ferrari but I hate to ruin a perfectly functional, beautiful car!!

I just did another trunk from salvage (found one same color as my car for a few hundred bucks) and mounted my APR wing on it. Then bought a deutsch connector to make it easy to disconnect the harness from the trunk. Takes a few minutes to swap.

Then I never swapped it and just leave the wing on it all the time and have my original trunk stored in the shop lol.
