remove rag top motor?

naa its not that difficult ... i can take the whole soft top out in less than that. But like the guy said above, so ghetto if you got a chick with you. If your making your S2k a full race car get a hardtop then gut the soft top.

It can be done. But like others have said the weight savings is minimal. I would guesstimate 10lbs altogether. I just recently had mine out while putting in a hard dog rollbar. Made it easier to check clearance on the bar etc. because I could move the top by hand without having to turn the car on.

FYI, it's not really that difficult to get to the top motors. I think I could have them out and the interior replaced in 2 hours. But nonetheless not a worthwhile weight savings option unless gutting the entire car.

It makes sense as part of an overall weight reduction mod. Unless you hit a critical mass of about 125# savings you won't feel much performance difference IMO. I'm gonna take a hard look at this as I'm getting close with minor mods and trunk gutting.
