Default Removing OEM radiator shroud....

I will be installing an ASM radiator plate, and was wondering if most of you with aftermarket radiator plates remove the factory piece behind the bumper? I recall reading some threads a while back where you should remove the factory piece, because the new one does the same job. Just trying to verify.

Any help would be appreciated!!

Yes remove it. Otherwise there is no point for the new one you put in.

lots of different opinions about that.

I'd say unless you have a snorkle - leave the OEM in - less turbulent air flow that way.

check this short thread

Comes down to whether you believe in Tuner Mags or Turbulence

Don't need a snorkel if your going with the AUt style one it will direct more air right at the filter. There is no need for the oem one at all. With a fan you can tell that it is directing air at the filter.

Well, I have the Eauto Mugen intake, and will be installing the ASM radiator plate over that.

If you don't mind cutting your OEM air guide, I'd suggest trimming it to as close fit to the intake as possible and keep it on.

Yep, it's been trimmed like that for almost a year now. I've been meaning to get a plate that sits above the intake, reason I went with the ASM one.

It's not about beleiving tuner mags it's about trying it and seeing the increase in airflow to the filter. Does zero harm in cooling and increases air to the filter.
