Funny I start this project on Sunday. I want the softy gone but everythng else left so I can have a nice parcel shelf and the tonneau will still fit.

That equation only works if you are trying to save weight by getting a hardtop. Not if you are buying a hardtop and have no use for the soft top.
Most people who remove it do it to remove weight...regardless its the same.
