reset vtec

Default reset vtec

what do you have to do to make the vtec kick in earlier, or is it even possible?

Just wire up a "search" button, and vtec will really kick in!

But I would get a VAFC though. So you can get a little tune with earlier VTEC.

thats all i thought it would take, i had posted a thread earlier asking about it and someone mentioned a vtec controller. i found one online and everything, but someone else said that it takes more than that to do it. so i reposted asking what else you had to do and nothing else was said, so thats why i started a new thread.

i would like the vtec to kick in at like 4k if i can.

factory set the vtec to crossover at 6 k because it's the best rpm in term of power, drivability, reliably, mpg

you don't sounds like you know what you are doing frankly, vtec works by oil pressure(and sh-tload of other stuff) and you can just mess around with the point without altering something else.

vtec crossover point is just one of the function of vafc, you actually get more useable power from chaning the a/f ratio than lower vtec cross over.

you pretty much cruise around 4k at 75-80 mph, not sure you want vtec to engage for a n extended period of time

Let him do it.. When he gets beat by a base line civic he will post up again asking whats wrong with his s2000

You mean V-TECH, right? That's the kind that really "kicks in". It's all about "kicking in".
