So you want to lose power huh....? This car is the next civic...

Leave your vtec alone, it makes the most power right where its at. Anything lower than 5500ish is too low.

Not to be blunt, but a lot of guys are flaming you because it seems like you haven't done a search. Type something like "VTEC Controller" in the white bar in the upper right corner of every page. I would get a VAFC (VTEC Air Fuel Controller) which allows you to tune your VTEC into a certain and RPM and tune your air/fuel mixture. Do a search on VAFC and you will get a whole bunch of info.

Depending what modification you have on your car, to be honest adjusting VTEC engagement point might actually decrease your car performance and increase mpg.

ive looked around and found some vtec controllers and stuff but i was told that you have to do something other than that. from what i hear its not really worth it to mess with it too much. im just trying to get some more low end power in it.

Dude, just forget about the VTEC controller. Get a used VAFC2 for cheaper and get a tune, like I have said now for the third time... From what I have seen, many have gotten good results.

Better to get a VAFC instead. Because most of the gains are gained from tuning the A/F ratio, along with VTEC cross overpoint.

Whatever you do, you should go get a shop with proper dyno to tune it. There is no real one-size-fits-all setting for these things. In fact, these settings will change based on the temperature, humidity, etc. The OEM setting is optimized for the balance between performance, reliability, fuel-economy in most driving conditions. The VAFC is intended for those who know what they are doing and have access to tuning it properly.

I personally stayed away, because I have no idea what the heck's going on there myself ... haha
