Reupholstering sear throwing out an airbag light
The Upholsterer is claiming that "the computer has to be reset once you have disconnected and reconnected the seat harness". How true is this and if it is, how can I reset this code? Does the car have an OBD port and can it be used to remove the airbag light? The sensors(s) are all intact and untouched.
Thanking you in advance for your assistance.

It won't trigger the airbag light unless you turn on the car with the seats disconnected. If you turn it on by mistake and it does trigger the airbag light, I believe a dealership has to do the reset.
I recently reupholstered the seats in my '06 and had no problems.

^ That is for the pre-06 cars and it may or may not work. Worth a try.
OP - I believe you need Honda HDS software and go through the initialization process. You may be able to clear SRS codes with a normal OBD-II machine but I'm not sure. To access all of the Honda software BS in the 06+, you need Honda HDS. I bought Honda HDS software and a dongle on eBay for $120 last year and initialized new seat weight sensors in my car. You're probably going to pay that much if you go to a Honda dealership to clear it anyways. May as well just buy the HDS software.

Are they sold on ebay as a combo? I might try the dealer as I have a friend in there. Yes, I did uninstall the seats, drove the car, and then reinstalled them, not really sure who it would throw a code, now i have airbag AND TPMS lights on, I hate that.
Is this the one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/40395139746...3ABFBM5MGPtMJh

I purchased from this storefront who does not currently have a Honda option for sale (https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_dkr...geor_21&_oac=1).
My kit had a similar red OBD2 dongle to the other kits he has listed and the seller emailed me the software. I do not have the HIM box or whatever that thing is called. The red OBD2 cable attaches directly to my computer with no box or anything.
Also, I learned that I-HDS requires Windows Professional or something and HDS can run on Windows 10 Home. So depending on your OS, you'll probably want standard HDS software.

I found a sensor on one of the sites, part number 81679-S0X-A01. Would this suffice to fool the system that the OEM sensor is still in place? Most of the posts talks about acquiring a set (which have become super expensive now) and taking the sensor out to use them when installing aftermarket seats.
I assume that the programming has to happen in any case to turn off that warning light that came up after I reupholstered the seats and started the car in between. The plugs that I reconnected under the seat are 3 in total so I assume only the seat position sensor is the only one that requires fooling?
