Default Running the car with no cat-back

Ok, I have a week off work with nothing to do. If I were to make a short pipe with a turndown to bolt on the cat just to see how I would like the S loud. I was just wondering if it would do any damage, maybe to the cat? I'm just sitting at my girls friends house bored off my ass and I thought of this. Allright I've ranted enough let me know what you guys think.

I say go for it, make a side exit pipe, or duel side exit pipes.... I have run a car with no cat back on it and it didn't do any damage, but i was surprised as it was quiter then i thought.

it would be EXTREMELY LOUD. and ud move very slowly.

no pipes = no exhaust back pressure, so your car will have trouble breathing.

go work out or something haha.

nope. u'd actually gain a few hp in the vtec range and lose almost 50 lbs in the rear

itd be a lot more quieter with the turndown after the oem resonator

i ran almost header out... had to use a test pipe after the header... fun experience nonetheless

yes you wouldn't lose any HP especially with this high revving motor.. obviously a ton of low end but the since goes to show, the faster you get the gases out, the more you can take in. Also back pressure is nothing but a way of keeping low end torque possible, in the conclusion of things when making power, the less restriction the better.
Either way its gonna be loud as hell and if you don't have your sensors in a test pipe or something the car will go in LIMP mode without the ability to read and adjust A/F though the O2 sensors..
Have fun
