Here is a look at the mount against the trunk lid:
Bezel insert 3d-printed:
I know this is an old post, but I was hoping you could help me out with a problem. I just printed my kit and installed it but now my trunk won’t close properly. I have to push down very hard on the center of the trunk for the latch actually engage and if not the latch refuses to engage and it takes me multiple tries to get it. I think it’s because the arm that was holding onto the cylinder is now hanging there, but I’m not sure. Did you encounter this problem? My trunk would close perfectly fine before this. I even tried adjusting the loop the latch latches on to but no help. It’s like the latch has no strength.
yeah its because the arm is bouncing around and basically unlocking itself again when you shut the trunk. I had that problem too. I would try maybe wrapping the rod with electrical tape or something to prevent it from flopping around.
I dug this up in finding ideas where to mount my backup camera.
A word of caution if you want to do this: S2000 trunk hinge loves chewing up the wires to the trunk release solenoid. Mine was broken when I got it and I had to use my key to get into the trunk. I did reconnect the wires but I'd been pretty screwed if I didn't have the keyhole.
