Hey guys, i figured id post in the parts section about my issue im having, the steering has been acting really funny lately... wanting to turn my itself to the right going down the road if i take my hand off the wheel. Well i took it to the dealership, it started this after we had temperatures below 0 degrees. They reset the eps and checked the torque sensor. So the steering rack is all i have left to get. So here is my question... can you use a steering rack off a 04 and up on a 2002 model? Need to know asap, Thank you!

 

why would you use an ap2 steering rack on an ap1?

You can use an 04/05 ap2 steering rack but you don't want to.

the ap1 rack has the better ratio, for performance at least.

 

Cant find a 2000-2003 used steering rack at all. I found some 04 and 05 ones

 

Those would be the least desirable ones as 06+ are dbw and don't even need to be considered

The parts are interchangeable. Based on the part numbers, the EPS controller are interchangeable as well.

I'm also looking for power steering gearbox (rack) for my AP1 but can't find one in Canada/US. Can you tell me when you find one for yourself; whether online or at some dealership. Thank you

P.S My S2000 is not in Canada and its RHD!
