Default S2k 2008

just bought a new S2000. I would like to increase its power. Can I reach 280-290 HP on the engine with out using a Turbo or supercharge?

What parts do I need to reach this HP?

If i used a testpipe will i get the check engine sign?

Thank you

WEll pretty much bolt on's, depending how much money your gonna spend is prety much worthless compared to the price you pay for FI.

For example, purchasing bolt ons may not get you the power you want, and the money you spend for that, could get you very close to a turbo or SC. not sure how it would work on your car considering you have drive by wire,

And YES the testpipe will through the check engine light on. You have to get the ANTI-fouler plug and put that into the test pipe.

And one more thing. since i noticed your pretty new... and coming from experience being on this board. You might wanna use the search button first before posting quiestions on your VERY first day.

Welcome to S2KI!

get a Greddy kit. it'll get you to your power goal with minimal money spent. also, for the test pipe..get a T1R TP it comes with the CEL fix.

Not without rebuilding the engine with a stroker kit that will cost you more than a turbo or supercharger

You can also add ITBs, TB, and VAFC probably good for an additional 15 whp.

Welcome!
You'll learn a lot from this forum
I've been on this board about a year before actually purchasing one.
I knew all the weak/strong points of the S2000 before going to the dealer.
You'll get to know that the S2000 is pretty much maxed out from the factory.
You won't get noticeable HP gains from simple bolt-ons except for FI.
Hope this helps.
Enjoy!!

well, j's 70rs, j's header, test pipe, and an asm/gruppe m intake or tsuchinoko can probably get you there. From there on, you swap to itb's, internal work, or stroker. Then you strip the sh!t out of it
