Default Samco Intake Pipe....

I have heard somewhere that this will NOT fit with the OEM airbox and I'm just curious as to why? I found a picture somewhere around here with the samco pipe WITH a stock airbox (with resonator removed) so I'm a bit confused. Any help is appreciated.

it fits. they go on easily. has a nice tight fit and looks a hell of alot better than the plastic OEM piece.

So who's chopping off the resonator on OEM airbox? What exactly does THIS accomplish?

There are numerous threads on it, I guess people do it for sound..... also Spoon Sports RECOMMENDS doing it when installing their air filter.

Sound? alrighty then.............

I blocked mine off. Didnt do ANYTHING for sound or performance. I want it off for looks and weight. I was just unsure about hacking up the OEM airbox.

Off for weight? Unless you're race-stripping your car for competitive racing, it's not going to make the slightest real-world difference.
