After chilly weather in NC for the past week, I SO want heated seats.

Might just have to make this a "next fall" mod.

Just wondering which model you guys have from http://www.heatedseatkits.com/products.php
These seem like a really good deal.

This thread has inspired me to see what is available on the UK.
Our weather is crap all year round for these to be worth while.
I have them in my beater so they would be great in the S!

If its only 16 inches long...isnt that to short for both the bottom seat and along your back? Do you guys decide where to cut the bottom and top peices?

Also I tried getting some information about that company heatedseatkits.com....and most of the posts I found were negative. I am thinking of orders the H3 kits from them, but now im worried the kits may have problems...

any downsides to this besides the genocide of sperm?
with the kit from heatedseatkits.com, it looks like it does not turn off automatically. is that correct?
if so, has anyone accidently left it on? did it drain the battery?
how well has the S2K seat held up to this mod?
any damages or accelerated wear to the seat?

I have the heatedseats H3 kit.

You wire it to the accessory power so that when the car key is turned to "off," the power is off to the seat.

I love mine. The H3 fits well in the AP1 seats without any drama.

You just peel back the leather cover and lay the element down. I don't know if there is any additional wear. I condition my seat leather, but I think the bolster wear will far outpace any leather seat heating issues.

It'll just be an excuse to cover the surface in Alcantara!!!!

Each "kit" comes with two pieces. One element for the back, one for the seat. You have to buy two kits if you're going to do both driver and passenger seats.

Nope.

I used pliers to open and reclose the "hog rings."

Or you can cut them and buy a set of new "hog rings" at AutoZone.

Or you can cut them and zip tie the seat to the railing.
