That might be a good idea. What would an aftermarket latch do? Can't seem to find any.

it's out of stock i've found them somewhere else though. What would it do? Would it get rid of the factory latch?

^ If you do go that route, you wouldn't need the stock trunk latch...but its going to be ugly.

When you get your trunk opened again try what I said above...all you got to do is LOOSEN the bolts that hold the trunk latch down...you can then move it around slightly...when you move it like down more then tighten the bolts to keep it that way. If that doesn't work I got another method.

Well, I did get it to work I guess. I can't get the trunk open now. Once I get it open I just have to adj the hood it looks horrible with the gaps. As long as I can do that and keep it shut I won't go with the tail gate fasteners. But at least it's another option.

Did you remove the trunk springs? If not...the only way to eliminate the gaps would be to remove the trunk springs...also if you want to prevent your trunk from warping over time. I believe if you remove the trunk springs, it will solve most of your problems.

I have to remove one trunk spring? I see I can get the tool from hardtopgup. There is an horrible gap guess it doesn't really need to be aligned...

You'll have to remove both...to be assured that your trunk will fit as good as it will fit and not warp over time.

Ok thanks. Do you know anywhere to get the tool besides hardtopguy? $29.99 seems like a rip off!

I would ask around your local area to see if you can barrow the tool, it takes like a minute to take the two springs off.
