mine hood came with tthe vent cover pieces. If yours did not i can make you a set. The do work decently, for keeping out most of the sand, dust, water, and anything else. I would recommend putting a sticky backed rummper type of deal to get a full seal on it, but i havtn done it to mine yet. lol. But i would put them on if you expect rain, snow, or any liquid weather. But i noticed it does keep the engine a lot cooler with the vent covers off. glad you were able to get it to fit better.

my car has sat in the pooring rain in front of my work for hours, only for me to come out and lift my hood to a dry engine compartment.no water issues At all I have no clue what other people are talking about when they say to seal the vents
