Default Shift Knobs

I have a new shift knob but failed to realize it is a 1.25mm when i ordered it. Obviously the s2k's are 1.5mm which i already knew. How or what do I need to do to change the size to fit the 1.25mm knob. Or maybe it isnt wrth doing and I should just get a new 1.5mm knob even though it wont be the one Id like to use.

You could always try to tap it. but it would probably be easier to sell it and pick up the correct size.

are the threads nylon or are they steel/sleeved/aluminum?

Well the shift knob is a discontinued item from spoon sports, so i cant just get the correct 1.5mm and i am not too sure about the threading.

sell it and get something else

if you have your heart set on it you can chop off the top of the shifter rod, weld a 1.25 thread pitch on the end

Should be able to just tap it with a 1.5 tap. I started making shift knobs and I have changed the thread from 1.25 to 1.5 and it fit perfectly fine on my shifter.

Tap it. I wouldn't go welding anything because that could cause a weak point and you would just break it off when you shift hard.
