Default Side diffusers: potential corrosion/rusting?

After searching around I have yet to find a thread regarding this question. The idea of purchasing some side diffusers is really growing on me. However, I understand that with most of them, for a secure fit, it requires drilling into the body with screws. So, it's brought up a concern for me in regards to future corrosion or rusting of the body panels where the holes have been drilled. Is this likely? How come it has never been brought up before? This is a concern of mine, because where I live there can be a decent amount of snow/road salt. Granted I never take my S out into the snow (but you can never be too safe).

Anyways, if anyone could shine some light on this for me, it'd be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Anytime you're drilling into metal there is always a chance of rusting. With that said, if you prime and seal the spots before final install you'll be fine.

And for this reason I used nylon screws and cap nuts on my rear fender liners wherever installation was going into/thru metal. POR-15 is highly recommended for prep of the hole in the metal after it has been drilled.

Plenty of holes in that area. Just use some touch up paint and good to go
