Default Side Strakes Equipped!

I've had a set of brand new OEM side strakes sitting in my basement forever and with the King Motorsports BBQ is coming up in a couple of weekends, I finally stopped procrastinating and installed them today...

I was kind of lazy and only jacked up the rear... check how low the front looked:

I pretty much followed the OEM instructors step by step... I removed the rear wheels, cleaned the area and question and proceed to measure the 24mm from the seal line towards the rear:

I used masking tape to insure that I have straight line (I measured 24mm on towards the top of the tape too):

I used the supplied template to mark the drill point underneath the car:

Please note, the 'B' template is for the drill hole for the side of the car which I opted not to do. I'm relying on the 3M double sided tape to keep it held on the car.

Drill hole:

First hole (3mm):

Second hole (8mm):

Third hole (10mm):

Lock nut that needs to be used in the hole:

Once the 6mm screw is inserted in, the nut will lock in...

I couldn't find the touch up paint for the S2000 so I used the red one for the Prelude:

Nut and screw installed:

Lower side strake partially installed:

Clamps...

Upper strakes temporary mounted to mark the mounting points:

Cushion pads installed... note, I used masking tape to keep track where the mounting points:

Clamps installed:

Removing the backing for the double sided tape and voila, side strake mounted:

looks awesome! want to do the same but don't wanna drill anywhere.

Is it possible to do this with just double sided tape holding it?

Certainly possible, but tape coming loose = 200 bucks down the drain.

It has for me in the past. Maybe user error? I wouldn't feel comfortable relying on just the tape. Looks great

Yeah, the front uses 3M tape and it was a bi@tch to get the lip off even after I removed the bolts. My S2000 isn't a daily driver so I'm not that worried about it for now. I'll check it periodically as well. Remember, the rear of the side strakes are being held on by 2 screws... The only additional thing I would change is adding washers.

Looks good. I was going to get side strakes until I realized you needed to drill into the quarter... That makes me nervous.
