Silencer for J's 60rs exhaust?
This weekend I wraped the exhaust with 2 layers of header wrap. This seemed to help quite a bit with the inside sound level. It's still loud but I may be able to live with it now. I don't know what effect the wrap will have on the exhaust some people say header wrap will cause headers to break others say it won't.
60RS loud? you got to be kidding me?...
isnt that one of the most silent exhaust in the market for the s2k?
I heared that the newer ones with the shorter muffler are a bit louder than the old ones, but havent heared them in person...

The 60RS is quite out side the car but inside it is loud to me. Everyone has their own opion on what loud is. I love the sound but it's making my left ear ring for some reason
I put a Dynatech 3in. cone silencer in. It made a noticable difference in the volume and I could not notice any difference in power. I think this is a good option for people that want or need a less sound volume. Dynatech claims a 1db to 3db reduction. I could tell the difference.
I have the 60RS...
and yes compared to many exhaust it's quiet - it does drone fair badly around 4000rpm (which is unfortunately normal driving for me...)
I never worried to much until recently I bought a dB meter for a job I was working on... on the way to work I turned it on.
with the top down at freeway speeds (70-78mph) the meter read 111dB
--- with the top up I run around 105dB
OSHA standards (Occupational noise exposure. - 1910.95) are:
105dB -- limit it to 1hr
110dB -- limit to less than 1/2hr
I drive much longer than 1 hr regularly...
Needless to say I've started putting my top up if I'm getting on the freeway...
Header wrap might be a good idea... and a set of bright orange hearing protectors might look cool right?

if you want to help lower the droning noise in the cabin, dynamat the cabin. have read about big drops in drone noise from dynamat on here. there was a good write-up about it in the electronics forum i believe.
