Default Simple Camera Mount

Hello,

After attending my first few autocrosses and watching countless videos of others having a good time I wanted to take some video as well.

Here is my simple camera mount that utilizes the standard bolts for the wind deflector.

I just used a piece of acrylic 1/4" thick and cut it out to the shape I liked popped in some holes and put a few rubber feet on the bottom. It only takes a quick second to change the oem deflector to the camera mount.

It seems to work really well. My camera picks up a lot of wind noise but it will serve its purpose.

That looks like a nice, easy solution! How bad does it shake?

Thanks,
I tested it on my way home from work the other day and I had no vibrations or shaking that I noticed on surface streets. Just a whole bunch on wind noise. A remote mic would be best.

looks good. did you just use a screw and washer to attach the camera to the acrylic?

philbert, I just ran a flat head screw through the bottom side up into the camera. I havent used a washer as of yet. I have been thinking if I had any vibrations to add a thin rubber washer or pad where the camera contacts the acrylic to dampen it similar to what I have on the bottom just with more contact area.

Thanks for the feedback!

Very nice and a great idea! I am looking to do my first Auto-X since I got the S and was thinking about how to mount a camera. Now I know!
