Soft top gap
Not sure if this is the correct place in this forum to post this so please tell if it isnt. Anyways i recently bought a 2001 s2000 and relized that when the softtop is closed there is a little gap inbetween the softtop and the top of the windsheild on the passanger side, probably about 1/2 inch. The drivers side latches and seels just fine though. It doesnt seem like the latvhes are messed up because when i put the top up without latching either side the passanger side is still up higher then the drivers side. When i start driving i can here the wind coming in threw and its really anoying. Has anybody else had this problem or anything like it and know what is causing it?
I had the same problem with my top. Turned out that the spring in the latches was busted. Even though the latches would clip and close the top, the spring inside it didn't have the pressure to pull the top down tighter, causing all the wind noise.
You can take the latch appart and check the spring. I changed mine and got a new one from Home Depot. Now my top is sealed tight without any noise.

I figured it was the latches but i realized when i put the top all the way up (without being latched) the left drivers side sits up really high for some reason. If i push down hard enough on it then it will seal but i really have to push on it so i feel like it has something to do with the top itself.
& yeah that noise gets annoying after sometime ha

Hmmm... thats odd.
I thought it was only when the top was down and clipped that it would stick up from one side.
But if it does that even when is up?? Then yeahh most likely there's something causing it to stay up. Check the whole top assembly. All the bars and rods. I remember when one of the rods on my top broke it would sink inside the car. And flap all over with the wind.
Maybe something is not aligned correctly.
