Default Soft top patch?

My top has developed a small wear spot, and a pinhole. Whats the best way to repair this to avoid a complete failure?

This is ghetto as hell but when my top was on order and I was waiting but needed to drive my car (I DD it), I used a torn old pair of jeans and glued it on the inside of the with fabric glue. I doubt that's a permanent solution though haha.

Here is a thread I posted about a repair that is pretty easy and cheap too
I did replaced the top not long ago but, the repair was still fine and was as good as the day I did it.

I had some wear marks where the front bar slides (since my straps were loose) and I patched them with some black canvas strips glued on the inside. I replaced the straps so that they wouldn't rub like that anymore either. Patches work fine, even when wet (I didn't have a hole, more of a rub that was wearing down the material) and in the hot summer sun.

cheap and quick is black gorilla tape, extra sticky, not affected by heat and works...

sew it closed with thread & needle(if it's big enough), then apply an iron-on patch on the inside. no need to fit an iron in there. bbq lighter with a credit card to smooth it out.

way to small to sew at this point, like i said its a pinhole, the whole wear spot is only about an inch long.

where could i buy some black canvas?

I went to a Tent Repair Store. They had a perfectly matching piece of material. $7 for the material and $5 for the glue. Well worth it and it's barely visible. GL!

Just cover the hole from the inside with black silicone adhesive sealant 16B Permatex. You can get it at any auto store for a few bucks. I used a toothpick to smooth it on. It has lasted 2 years with no wear.
