Soft top patch?

My hole was 3in by 2in (large rip). I did some reading and went with a cross stitch to close the gap and strengthen the threads and used a marine sealer made for that fabric. The sealer soaked into the fabric and threads and dried clear. It holds extremely tight and does not leak. Also cant be seen even when top is up and that was a big rip. Good luck

put a vinyl patch on the inside to protect it and prevent it from getting worse.
