can anyone tell me if the spoon hardtop can be installed without removing the soft top. every one i talk to says it can but the main part of the top has 3 brackets that go right where the rear of the softop goes. i cant figure it out!

yes you can install the spoon top without removing the soft top...the three brackets that go behind it will take some time since you will have to move the soft top up and down to secure the brackets...its kind of a PITA but it can be done...especially if you want to retain the use of your soft top...i have the spoon top as well and still have mine in

I made L brackets which Slide under the lip between the cloth and the rear molding. It securely holds the rear of the hardtop down without any fuss.

do you have to take out the rear softtop tray to see where the bolts that the brackets hold to?

If you want to use the offical spoon brackets I am sure you do. I made my own. They bolt to the hard top and then the L goes under the lip of the softtop and holds the hardtop down pretty securely. I'll take photos tomorrow.

FINNNAAALYY! I have some pics of the hardtop brackets I made. sorry it took so long.

I modified the OEM s2000 radio brackets to hold the rear section of the HT down. it was quite simple. I hope it works well or you guys too!
