I wasn't going to say anything here but I feel as though 'not saying anything' is done way to often.

One of the main reasons I frequent this forum is to learn. It's contributers like this (Gernby) that keep me coming back. What is the point of the forum if not to ask questions and share knowledge? This type of response is why you're business endeavors will likely succeed.

OP,
In life, as with cars, it's not whether or not you take advice; it's filtering out who you should be taking advice from. Often, bro-science and rumors turn into fact. However, you will find some members who dedicated a lot of time and effort into not only learning more about how the S2000 works (what makes it tick so to speak) but sharing that information and putting it out there for everyone to read and absorb.

Having said that... sometimes you just need to figure things out on your own (like you've done). Whether it's because you like learning from mistakes, learning the hard way to do thing (like I do), or just because you have time to spare every weekend. In the case of exhausts there has been extensive research done by a few members on these forums and others alike. I am not about to generalize their findings as different portions of their results may carry more weight for you.

Anyways. Good luck on your journey and thanks for sharing your results.

I ran 2.5" straight pipe from cat to split on an OEM exhaust for a while, couldn't feel any gains and I trust Gernby's take that I probably lost something up top. I loved the sound though and don't get up to redline much anyway. I gutted my trunk and could feel that right away.

Also I did a lot of research before removing my resonator where people have stated that the resonator takes away from VTEC by being a little too restrictive. No aftermarket exhausts for the S have any resonators that look anything like the stock resonator. I'm sure my test pipe is really killing my VTEC too then. Check your sources and really try not to be so negative, it isn't healthy.
Arguing with Gernby on anything exhaust related is like trying to run a marathon without having shoes on. It just doesn't make sense, and you won't win.
Abebe Bikila won the 1960's olympic marathon without shoes.

OP if you like the way it sounds then all the better, I modded my stock exhaust and I have no idea if I gained or lost a couple HP but I do know that I love the sound it makes and thats worth it to me...
