I know it is tempting, but I wonder how much the GRAND TOTAL would cost after other necessary parts you need.

Wow, it took THAT long? That is crazyyyy, glad everything worked out. I see you live in Georgia, so do I. What shop did you take it to that ended up getting the job done?
Back when I started this project I spun a rod bearing so my 2.0 crank was shot.
Talked with TODA and they told me 6 weeks to complete the work, 3 weeks to ship.
6 months later I got the bottom end. I talked with inline pro and they were not even doing stroker kits with a FI at that time. So TODA it was.
Machine shop took 7 weeks to sleeve and hone. Great sleeve job just a shitty hone job. 3 HG later, tore completley down and sent out to another machine shop. They went a bit to big honing pistons. Had to order another set. Went with CP 9:1 compression, 87.5

Got the car running Jan, went to S&R Performance in Tampa where I am currently stationed.

I was out of the country a lot so I really did not have time to keep up with things, or do some of the work myself.

As far as how much?
TODA bottom end 4500.
Darton Sleeves and sleeving 1300.
AEM EMS 1400, plus tuning. Paid a lot of different tuners.
Inline pro turbo kit. Paid about what they advertise for.

Labor, don't want to think about what I paid.

Dang, that must have been a PITA.

Let's say I went and got the inlinePRO 2.5 stroker kit. What other parts and/or engine work (sleeving, honing, etc.) should I get? Btw, I didn't go and actually order the kit.

To be more specific, it's a K24 crank with H22A rods and pistons. Here's the thread of my build using these parts. IMO for strokers. I may not have as much power as guys running boost but it puts a smile on my face everytime and I'm not finished pulling power out of it.

Your numbers are really good for those parts. ~175ft/lb around 3000RPM must feel awesome. I don't get close to that with my FI.

Is it safe to run a 2.2 stroker kit with stock ECU? I read that the spoon kit works fine without tuning.

I would think that you would have to do upgrade your ECU when ever upping displacement. It's like a whole new engine, I think... But don't quote me on this.

Yes you need full standalone for any stroker kits. Unless you want to blow your shit up and do it all over again.

So is an ECU the only thing you need to get the stoker kit performing like it should?

I would also love to stay NA. But its just so much easier to just get a greddy turbo kit or a comptech s/c and just slap it on and tune instead of having to spend the same amount of money and have to take apart the engine and pay for the crazy labor involved in a complete engine rebuild pretty much.

Although it would be funny when your pulling on much faster cars in your "stock" s2000 They dont have to know you really have a 2.7.

I don't think the 2.7 is streetable though. At least inlinePRO doesn't make it sound like it's DD reliable enough.

But even a 2.5 with ITBs you can probably get around 320whp/210ft/lbs. That's pretty crazy for an I4, 2800lb car.
