Default Suspension and wheel trading

So long story short. I'm a new member having just bought my ap2 a few weeks back and am now looking to get a new set of wheels and coilovers. Posted a wtt ad up for coilovers to see what offers I can get hoping for tiens or kw's. Instead I got an offer to trade my factory suspension for a set of bc coilovers with 35k on them plus 650 and shipping on my end. Do you guys think this is a good deal?

Also, I'm looking to pick up a set of Work wheels and thought it may be better to sell my ap2v2's first. Tried to look up what they go for these days but all I could find was ap2v1's. What are your suggestions. Any tip(s) are greatly appreciated!

BC coilovers are pretty good, but I would not pay 650 for a set with 35k on them. I would pay 450 max for them because they are almost at the rebuild/replace strut point, especially if the previous owner had them really low. It usually costs about 100 per strut to rebuild or replace. If you are lucky you may get another year or two out of them before requiring rebuild, and then at that point you have paid the price for brand new ones. If you really want kw3's or tein coilovers, then wait for them. No point in paying for something that you will not be happy with and eventually regret getting because you will be buying the same part twice. Keep in mind a set of used kwv3's usually go for 1600-1900 and tein mono flex usually go for about 1100-1300. So you should determine what price you are willing to pay- if you plan to track or autocross, hold out for the kw3 / tein mono flex, if you are mainly planning on spirited driving and maybe the occasional autocross, than BCs should be fine. (if you are planning on stancing it, then buy the cheapest coilovers you can find- that is what everyone else does, plus it makes the car handle like crap so why waste money on quality parts.)

As far as ap2v2s go, they usually go for about 400-500 with decent tires and minimal to no curbage. You can get little more if you have nice tires on them- such as star specs or rs3s with plenty of tread left. If you were going to sell them without tires, you might get 450-500 shipped if you are willing to wait for a buyer. They usually sell pretty quick around 350-400. If you sell the ap2v2s before you get the works, what will you drive around on?

Thanks for the information. I thought the price of the bc's were a little high considering I had to throw in my suspension and seeing it listed 899 mrsp on a few sites. Didn't know the they would need to be rebuilt that soon though.

I live close to campus so I was thinking of leaving the car on jacks in my buddys garage if I lined up a set of wheels(figured it shouldn't take more than 3-5 business days to ship). For the most part I wanted to trade my set for another members set so I could avoid being temporarily immobile, but I having no luck sourcing a set of wheels I liked that are also up for trades, got me thinking of selling the wheels.

What Works are you looking to get? Are you looking to buy new or used. If you are buying new, you may want to find out if anyone has them in stock, otherwise they can take a couple of months to get.

I was looking into used Meisters. Saw a few other wheels (non-Works) as well that were nice, but I'm going to keep an eye out for the Meisters in specific.

why not keep your stock parts? stock suspension isnt worth much btw(under $100), i would just keep them

i always keep my oem parts

ap2v2 and ap2v1 are in the same price range. depends on condition, can go anywhere from $400 without tires to $600+ with tires

Wow, I didn't know the suspension was that cheap. I have no plans on getting rid of my S anytime soon as I just picked it up. Just thought the extra cash would come in handy for the mods I had planned on getting.

i agree, keep the stock, and you should bite the bullet on better coilovers if ur keeping the thing, aftermarket parts for s2ks or hondas in general have great resale value, keep the stock to put back on and sell the aftermarket when ready.
