Tachometer signal wire?

Default Tachometer signal wire?

Searched but I was unable to find where to tap the tach signal? Is there one under the hood? I don't want to tap into the ECU.

Yes I think there is a open test connector located under the brake master cylinder.

Pull the rubber boot off and you can see it's just an open connector.
You can get a pin that fits nice an snug inside it, T tap or just cut it off and replace with a crimp/solder connection.
