I'm looking at both the Tanabe Super Hyper Medallion and the Medallion Touring. I like both but which one is louder? I heard the Touring Medallion isnt much louder then stock but is the Super Hyper Medalllion louder? I'm looking for the one which is louder then the other. All help would be appreciated

the medallion hyper is a tad bit louder. the touring is under 93db and the hyper is rated under 95db. im sure that you would not be able to tell the difference in sound between the 2.

Actually 3dB is ~ 2x as loud or 2x less loud whichever way you want to look at it.

I bought the Touring medalion last thursday and love it. Its exactly the quietness i wanted. But if you want a loud exhaust this isnt it. I will post pics and a sound clip one day when i have the time on here. And I also got it very cheap

The 3db thing you are getting is from the car audio world where it takes twice the power to get 3db more loudness. That is not twice the perceived loudness. Twice the perceived loudness is ~10 db, 1.5 times the perceived loudness is ~6db (the scale is logarithmic not linear). And there is no exact right answer, these numbers were arived at by some studies that asked people what they though was twice as loud, etc.
