Default Tein S-Techs.....

Well, I've been looking at many different springs for sometime now and I'm really leaning towards the S-techs. If any AP2 owners can give any reviews on how stiff they are compared to the factory AP2 springs, that would be great.

I'm hoping they don't make the car bounce around like some cheaply modded Civic, but rather, make for a pretty stiff ride.

Any help would be great, thanks!!

Pete

I just installed my S-techs the other day. The ride stiffness for the most part wasnt really changed. It is alittle more bouncier on less quality roads, i kinda find it as annoying, however the drop is rather nice and give the car a nice look. The is like a finger of gap on the front wheels and closer to 3 fingers on the rear ( which surprised me) i didnt think the rear was gonna be sitting so high, but now i like it. For the price of the springs they are a good buy. Near stock ride except for alittle bouncing on the highway if the road is crap. Tanabe would be a decent spring if you want alot stiffer, maybe there is another brand out there that are good, but i havent researched them in a while. But i like my S-techs so far.

Thanks, but only need the springs.

Bliss@5200, you mentioned them being a little bouncy on certian roads.... I'm guessing that's due to the higher spring rates. Tein's site says they are 300 front and 360 rear. Which are a lot higher than the 00-01 OEM springs.

I would say save your cash and get some coilovers. You will regret it in the long run.

Well, I put Eibachs on my old AP1 and was very happy "in the long run". I can't see spending so much money right now on a coilover set.

pete, for the looks , its not that bad..not too dumped and still great for DD on freeway and such. For the price, i like it. If you want, you can test drive mine, and see what you think.

My car sits funny with them for some reason... The back rubs if I have two people in the car and take a corner hard, and the front sits higher than the back...I double checked that the front springs are the front and im pretty sure they are! I have an aftermarket sway bar in the front and recently re-adjusted that and it seems to sit a bit better. Back still looks lower than the front though....As for the ride I don't think you are going to be able to get a more "comfortable" ride. As soon as you go to full coilovers they are generally alot stiffer as most people buying them are going for a "street/track" application. I would be surprised to see a "stock" valving coilover kit with stock spring rates but hey who knows.
