Thumbs up Test pipe

Is it possible to use what you guy's call a test pipe with my original exhaust ? If i am correct your refering to a de-cat pipe ?????? Im looking to keep the original exhaust but want a slightly louder note will this work. What's the best way to go ie brand/make with fitment etc in mind.

Cheers Dave

Yes, you can. A test pipe is a pipe that eliminates the cat. So yeah, you are correct. When looking for a test pipe there are many options. I believe it is the t1r that has tabs to mount the stock heatsheild over top of it so it will pass a visual inspection if a cop pulls you over and looks. That is the one I like best, but there are a lot of options out there.

t1r is the brand, lol, you can get it from one of the sponsors or you can get it used from the for sale section pretty easy. Here it is from A&J Racing

Ian, do you have the t1r installed with the heatshield? I just did mine and I'm trying to find the cause of a rattle I'm getting at 4.5-5k rpm.

OP,
I have a video posted comparing the stock exhaust with and without the T1R testpipe:

No, I dont, although you may try puting rubber washers in between the 2 pieces of the heat shield before you use the screws to put them together. That might help some if it is the heat shield that is rattling.

Thanks Ian,
I'm not so sure its the heatshield though because mc_crispy tried several setups and still had the rattle. He even took the heatshield off. I'm going to give your suggestion a try though.

I haven't seen a 70mm, I've only seen the 63....maybe the 70 comes with single T1R exhausts?

The berk test pipe is the best test pipe IMO. It comes with a built in check engine light fix and gained me 6whp over the stock cat on back to back dynos.
