Catalytic convertors do NOT lower emissions. they change one form of exhaust gas to another. Convertors are there to make it less smoggy (good for short term yay) + take out carbon monoxide. The GREENHOUSE GASSES are still there.

 

when i start caring about the minute amount my little 4cyl honda pollutes, is the day they start restricting classic "muscle" cars. sorry, but i know people who have cars that in no way shape or form should be street legal, but because its pre-1965 (or whatever the cutoff year is here in Cali), they arent even tested.

 

Its simple responsibility to take care of what one has, whether it be a car, family or living environment, the latter two relating to this topic. If everyone lacked this sense responsibility to take care of themselves and others, doctors will charge you up the wazoo for doing basic work or simply deny your their service. Law enforcement could abuse their power and forsake justice or simply let the crooks get away cause they simply dont care. Society will really fail to function properly altogether.

So next time you simply say "#### it", think of your doctor saying that to you when the treatment is too difficult or a little inconvenient (test pipe as opposed to cat converter ring a bell here?). The examples can go on and on.

"Scientists" say even if we all stopped driving cars and cut factory pollution by %90 and never had campfires, and stopped smoking cigarettes and planted a billion more trees it wouldnt help, its too late. So f it, why bother? If your going to believe the media, believe this too. Take your hippy bs to a hippy forum, if I cared I would by a prius that get an amazing 45mpg, yes thats the way to save mankind, Toyota has saved the day.
